Welcome

The Institute for Health Policy and Systems Effectiveness (IHPSE) was created on December 18, 2003. The organization was incorporated as a California public interest non-profit entity with Internal Revenue Service section 501 (C (3) exempt tax status on August 24, 2005.

The Institute is committed to optimum health and sustainable development for disadvantaged children and families in California and elsewhere in the world. We, therefore strive to advance knowledge, attitudes, values, behaviors, and relationships, which have a positive impact on the well-being of disadvantaged children and families.

IHPSE's charitable activities are community-based, evidenced-based, culturally- competent, seek to be sustainable, and are implemented through a network of partnerships and collaboration. The Institute’s activities, therefore include, but are not limited to the formation of a broad-based coalition of industry, education, labor, government, health, civic and community organizations dedicated to working with the Institute for Health Policy and Systems Effectiveness (IHPSE) to improve the well-being of children and families in disadvantaged communities of California and elsewhere; through social and economic development, effective systems, and research.
